Voices of Orchid Island focuses on the Yami community on Orchid Island, a small island located 45 miles off the southeast coast of Taiwan in the Pacific Ocean. The film explores the complex and often troubled relationship between the Yami and the outside world by looking at three different cases of “invasion.”

There are two characters in The Cruise, director Bennett Miller's documentary debut: tour guide Timothy Levitch and New York, the city that barely contains his seemingly-boundless energy. But who are these new shamans? Are they tricksters, magicians, businessmen, or cultural activists? This film takes a behind-thescenes look at a Buryat shaman living on an island in Lake Baikal as he moves between intimate shamanic rituals performed for local clientele and shows performed at various resorts for Western tourists in search of “primitive” cultures.
