February 2003 Iraq. More than 300 people arrived in Baghdad to try to stop the war. They went there as human shields, placing themselves in strategic spots to prevent them from being bombed, but negotiations with Saddam Hussein’s regime did not turn out as they had hoped they would. A human shield diary shows the great disparities between a people’s movement and a dictatorial regime.

On December 26, 2003, the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) deliberately shot at Gil Namati, a 21 year old Israeli protestor that demonstrated against the separation fence/wall. Gil was shot in both legs by two live bullets. The incident created a media storm and raised many question . What would have happened if the IDF didn't lie about the shooting of Gil Namati/ Would it have justified the actions taken by the security forces? Is there a difference between shooting a Jew and a non-Jew? This film is divided into three parts, the first part presents the investigation which was shown at the press conference and proved the IDF was lying about the reasons for the shooting, the second part criticizes the investigation itself and how the media reacted and portrayed the incident and the separation barrier, and the third part is a propaganda piece about the "danger" anarchism poses in Israel.

The clash between the State and the social movements in Spain in 2011 laid bare the true nature of power. The police crackdown was a response to the largest protest to date. Three hundred thousand demonstrators were faced with the most violent side of democracy. Using images of these events taken from various sources, this film reflects on democracy, power and its symbols, the role of the media and violence, as well as questioning the language of film and the scope of its possibilities.

In the pitch black of the tunnel, rats swarm through piles of garbage as high-speed trains leaving Penn Station tear through the darkness. For some of those who have gone underground, it has been home for as long as twenty-five years. Deeply moving and surprisingly entertaining, Dark Days is an eye-opening experience that shatters the myths of homelessness by revealing a thriving community living in tunnels beneath New York City and honestly capturing their resilience and strength in their struggle to survive. With a haunting soundtrack by DJ Shadow.

June 2013. A group of 800 people illegally occupy a former movie theatre in Barcelona in order to screen a documentary. Once they are in, they rename the building after a girl who committed suicide in 2011. It becomes ‘Cinema Patricia Heras’. Who was Patricia? Why did she kill herself? And above all, what role did Barcelona play in her death? That is precisely what this documentary and the strongly symbolic squatting action seeks to bring to light: through Patricia’s story, they reveal the dark side of Barcelona: The Dead City.

Many people first became aware of the Shatila refugee camp in Lebanon after the shocking and horrific Sabra-Shatila massacre that took place there in 1982. Located in Beirut's "belt of misery," the camp is home to 15,000 Palestinians and Lebanese who share a common experience of displacement, unemployment and poverty. Fifty years after the exile of their grandparents from Palestine, the children of Shatila attempt to come to terms with the reality of being refugees in a camp that has survived massacre, siege and starvation.
