A documentary that collects the reflections of John Berger, Bernardo Atxaga, Gianni Celati, Joaquín Jorda and Abdel Aziz on how to break through the labyrinth of lies that we find ourselves trapped in. These and other artists who spent time between the ports of Livorno, Bilbao, Naples and Barcelona are weaving the thread of Ariadna that will help us find a way through the labyrinth of the world.

Tarek and Nordin narrate the history and struggles of their organisation. In the midst of the election campaign, their memories of the constant lies and failures of different governments over the last thirty years are put into perspective, somewhat tinged with resentment.

“This world is unfair. Its organization is inhuman. We know it. It shows. All the time. I don't want to denounce it. I'm seeking something else”. Through meetings in Limoges and in La Rochelle, images and sounds gleaned here or there, a search for what squatting is and what it can be, the alternatives, and through it all, utopia.

Two nooses are left as a warning to black students trying to integrate their playground, fights break out across town, a white man pulls a shotgun on black students, someone burns down most of the school, the District Attorney puts six black students on trial for attempted murder, and the quiet town of Jena becomes the site of the largest civil rights demonstration in the South since the 1960s... The Jena 6 is the story of hidden racial inequality and violence becoming visible.

The Black Panther Party galvanized millions of African Americans against police repression and brutality, upholding the right of armed self-defense. The government launched a campaign of murder, jailings and disinformation to destroy the BPP. This film documents the Chicago police murder of one of the most charismatic and effective Panther leaders, Illinois Party chapter chairman Fred Hampton.

The Purple Meridians II

Three organisations in cities and countries that are far away from each other, but share the desire for a fairer distribution of opportunities for women and non-binary people in the audiovisual and film industry.

Over the past year, three workshops were held in which 18 film and video makers discussed and shared their experiences and knowledge.

The workshops gave rise to several proposals, including the desire to continue to cultivate these connections, and to organise a face-to-face meeting in which to further develop individual needs and strengthen personal and professional links.

In 2022, we organized a thematic residence at Faberllull Olot to keep working on the proposals that emerged in the 2021 workshops: an international meeting of 10 filmmakers from different countries, to break the boundaries they have faced and contribute proposals for moving forward.

The idea is to create a network for mutual support and exchange for future collaborations, along an axis that crosses the whole of Europe, from its eastern to its western border.
