A dialogue with the filmmaker Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd and the videomaker Alessandro Quaranta , based on the film proposals of the authors, and the approaches that underpin their respective cinematographic and audiovisual practices, around the concept of lost territories - physical and existential - for and because of which communities resist, fight or flee: the Saharawis, the Armenians and the Yezidis. A reflection on the violence inherent in any war, be it of low or high intensity: the losses, pain and human suffering they entail.

In 1963, shortly after the independence of Mali, the Tuareg population rose against the new government. Bloodily put down and followed by terrible droughts, this uprising led thousands of Tuareg from Mali and Niger to take refuge in Algeria and Libya. Teshumara, born out of the pain of exile, is a movement affirming Tuareg existence and the need for change. This is when the Tinariwen guitars started to resonate... This film is dedicated to my friend Amadou Aghali.

Queer theory dynamites the foundations of dualism that dominates our society: man-woman, gay-straight, normal-strange... There are as many shades between man and woman as between black and white. As an example of gender diversity, we follow five characters as they go about their daily life. A day-to-day that does not fit the pattern of a “normal” male or a regular woman. The normality of those who aren't “normal.”
