Manipulation and experimental methods of contraception.
City planners decide to pull down parts of Shanghai's old town in order to regenerate the city. Every year more than one hundred thousand families are forced to leave their homes and move into buildings on the edge of city. Under construction is a two- and three- dimentional flight across the now destroyed living areas of Shanghai which shows how random and brutal decisions can affect peoples's lives.

In this increasingly globalised world, our identities are becoming more and more diluted. Rafael Tormo, a Valencian contemporary artist tries to stimulate interest in the dying tradition of 'coets borratxos'. However his discourse is neither traditionalist nor nostalgic, instead it is subversive and rebellious, as he and the 'penya foc seguit' reclaim the public space and their identities.
One of the most unknown uprisings of our history "The bread mutinery" was led by women in Cordoba, May 1652. There are no faces, there are neither names. There is no image of them. How can we recover the gestures of resistance that we cannot see?
UntitledThere is one place on the Rambla that Ariadna Pi has always been very fond of. This has been true of all the incarnations she has known over the decades, especially when they have taken place in and around El Chino, such as when she existed as a textile worker and mother of a family in a flat in Carrer Escudellers, a florist on the Rambla itself, a whore in Robadores, a shop assistant in Plaça del Padró, a young girl who someone fell madly in love with one night in La Paloma and never saw again, a young girl with whom someone fell madly in love one night in La Paloma and whom she never saw again, an immigrant first from the Catalan and then Andalusian countryside, and very recently from the Maghreb, living in a shabby boarding house perhaps in Carrer Ample, and earning a living rubbing scales in the Eixample. It should be noted that the aversion to this building was not so much explained by the things that were done, but by the type of staff who frequented it: haughty, bloated, arrogant characters, disdainful of the working people of the neighbourhood. The frequenters were the masters, the bankers, the landlords, the financiers, the powerful and their respective wives, the "best houses" in Barcelona, all the most uptight people, always dressed in their best clothes, hypocritically bragging to each other...
Non-Identified Video Observatory (OVNI)A war has been raging in Iraq for the last five years. American soldiers are increasingly exhausted by a conflict that drags on without an end in sight. For the first time in its history, the American Army is not making its recruitment quotas. Yet there is an almost inexhaustible supply of new recruits among young immigrants, both legal and illegal. Five soldiers of Latin American origin were among the first casualties of the Iraqi war. Three did not have American citizenship. José Antonio Gutierrez and Jesus Suarez del Solar were among them. José Antonio was one of the first U.S. Army soldiers to die in Bagdad. He was from Guatemala. Just a few days after the conflict began, Jesus Suarez stepped on an American mine hidden in the sands of the Iraqi desert. He was from Mexico. His father Fernando Suarez has been fighting ever since. He wants to halt the aggressive tactics of U.S. Army recruiters who target Hispanic kids in American high schools. And he wants the war to come to an end.
An Informal Gaze (Una Mirada Informal) is the result of the interest born from the standardized pricing of different products, the symbolic value that we give them and the attitude of the salesmen to this phenomenon. Our chosen subject was the rubbish collected and classified in Mexico City and Copenhagen. The interpersonal relationships that are established in the black economy, above all with regard to illegal street trading, are the focal point of this proposal. We feel it is significant how not only the buyer and seller play a role, but also how a whole social structure regulates and permits – or represses – the trading which is carried out. Displaying merchandise and hiding from the law; running, looking, being seen, being invisible, all these are ways of behaving. What we tried to do is to identify some of the relationships that are established in an urban environment.
