"The Zapatista movement showed us what mirrors and masks are for. Mirrors are for leaving behind the trick mirrors that power had placed in order to deceive or self-deceive, and to offer the naked reality of social situations just as they are. The mask, curiously, is for being seen. Until this movement put masks on the indigenous people, they weren't seen - they were invisible and exploited. When they put masks on, they were seen and they helped reveal that economic, political and cultural power also wore it's own masks". Manuel Vázquez Montalbán
“The opening of a Muslim oratory in a building in Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), for the celebration of Ramadan in October 2004 sparked a confrontation with dye intolerance among the residents of the city and the City. No Mosque! is a documentary of dialog and reflection that analyzes causes and consequences of this conflict on the basis of testimony of all of its protagonists.” We see the escalating pressure from one section of the neighborhood, the solidarity of others (the Ateneu Popular), the pathetic response of the City Council and the Muslim community's banishment to a prayer room made from shipping containers among wire fences in an Industrial Zone... A fractal that is being repeated exponentially throughout the country.
UntitledMy grandfather is crazy. He does things that I do not understand. Dance, paint and look at the sky starry nights looking for some friends that are above his head. Plant the potatoes head down and make barracks for his friends. My grandfather is crazy, I think ... Also my mother and my father ... 1 Mostra de Vídeo Independent de Barcelona 1993.
Kim, Harold, Miguel Duque, Ratablanca y Cross-T “We say there is social war when everything gets reduced to a plan. All of the possibilities for creation and existence that all of us want for ourselves, what we call life, require the availability of resource this purpose. Symbolic, imaginary, actual, physical resources. If this doesn't happen, then what is democracy? Democracy is a potentiality. Is the urge towards creativity and complexity, which exists as potential in every life, fulfilled or is it not fulfilled' If it is not fulfilled, then what is democracy? The way we see it, democracy means that those who produce the world can produce it entirely. Not that some produce it, and the rest obey”. Colectivo Situaciones, Argentina.
In November, 2003, trade ministers from 34 countries met in Miami, Florida, to negotiate the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA). The FTAA threatens to devastate workers, the environment, and public services like health care, education, and water, and to destroy indigenous rights and cultural diversity across North, Central, and South America. Against Capital's model of paramilitary oppression, information warfare, and corporate rule, we offered models of grassroots resistance, creative action and solidarity.

An extract from a dialog between Noam Chomsky and Michel Foucault in 1971. The topic: Human Nature: Justice versus Power. Foucault claims that “Power is not an institution, it's not a structure or a force available to some: it is the name given to a strategically complex situation in a given society”. If the centrality of a power that we can submit to or resist no longer exists, than it is impossible to seize power (if in the center there is nothing to seize). If power is reticulated, resistance must take place everywhere and in every way; if power is exercised at countless points, it must be challenged point by point.
