Toni Serra, co-director of the OVNI Archives presents different pieces of the more than 2000 that this audiovisual archive has gathered over 21 years, offering us an uncomfortable vision of the century where we live, but also the dreams and desires of societies that do not see each other reflected in the imaginary of corporate media. El ciclo De lo imaginado a lo tangible, propone presentar ideas abstractas que nos ayuden a reflexionar sobre la realidad donde vivimos, inmediata, concreta y material. Toni Serra, codirector de los Archivos OVNI, presenta diferentes piezas de las más de 2000 que este archivo audiovisual ha reunido a lo largo de 21 años, ofreciéndonos una visión incómodo del siglo donde vivimos, pero también los sueños y deseos de unas sociedades que no se ven reflejadas en el imaginario de los medios corporativos.

Present tense in english means the present of the verbal conjugation: what is the video is. A presentation of the present in the time as it goes by in the screen. A double screen: that one where we can see it (the projection surface) and the reference to the visual culture (cinema, television) by the video frame (two boundaries - the walls of the buildings - which delimit a space where the action happens). With respect to this action, what goes on it is a contraposition of its elements, where the roles are inverted: in the middle a crane, motionless all the time, and behind the sky and the cloudes in continuous movement, just when becomes night. The video is the contemplation of the course of the time as well as when we are inside of a cinema.

Essay of false video clip on a universal theme.

The voice of this film is that of the Israeli author S. Yizhar, who reads the first few chapters of his autobiography "Mikdamot" (“Preliminaries” or “Prefaces” in Hebrew). Director Anat Even (“Detained”/"Asurot") accompanies Yizhar's voice with her gaze, which continues it and stands against it at one and the same time. S. Yizhar describes a dramatic day in the life of infant Yizhar, (1917) a story that is a dialogue of love and reckoning with his father, with the founding generation, and the Zionist dream. Even, who sees Yizhar as a member of that founding father generation, examines this score-settling up close through purely visual means. The film traverses Israel's battered landscape, moving along its bypass roads that masquerade as the highway to Zionism, progressing and retreating in time when in fact it is stuck at the very point that Yizhar, the infant/80 year old, marked in “Mikdamot” – when the Zionist dream is simultaneously realized and shattered.
