If the popular uprisings of 2011 have taught us anything, it is that revolutions do not occur as singular events – with the toppling of a tyrant or the capture of state power – but are complex long-term processes that play out over multiple years or even decades. They involve not just the removal of a government, but also the systemic transformation of political and social institutions, cultural norms and values, human consciousness and collective action. Such revolutions are, by their very nature, social and collaborative processes. In this presentation, I will look back at the uprisings of 2011-12 from the perspective of ‘networked resistance’, analysing how and why – in this time of crisis – the world is suddenly faced with the emergence of decentralized, leaderless protest movements from Tunis to Toronto. Providing a panoramic overview of the ongoing global revolutionary wave, I will not only show how all these uprisings emanate from the same source (a defunct world capitalist system), but also how their similar revolutionary tactics might be an indication of the world that awaits us. I will tell my story along the line of videos and songs of the movement. My final video will be a special address by the Greek resistance hero Manolis Glezos to the Spanish movement, to be premiered at OVNI.

Identity, Repetition, Death Drive. Death as only constancy in human identity. Obituaries. For each year of my life. Life as an endless process of continual dying. Photo shots. Meant to identify. To confer an identity. In life, as in death. To cut a sharp straight line through. Self possession. Ego as the target. Kept still. Centered. To be performed upon. To be performed. Sublimated murder incarnated. Packed for display. Enclosed into a repetitive form. Identity generator. As a kind of defense against anxiety. The tensor of accumulated resistance. Evoking nostalgia for the never encountered. Of that which remains self-identical. Delivered frozen, from some earlier state. Kept in the underworld of lost rememberance. If the death instinct aims to return to an earlier state, death must be a repetition.

The "RIYAZ MASTER PROJECT" VIDEO is an experimental non narrative road movie filmed in India. This video approaches an abstract and futuristic vision of the complex matrix called indian nation. From Auroville to Kolkata and from Varanasi to Bhopal looking for the context in production of the RIYAZ MASTER, the electronic tabla machine which inspires the whole RIYAZ project. Our former research around the old industrial landscapes and the fertile and dirty environments led us to imagine the possibilities of the development of a future India, playing with fictional and real elements --inspired by the local cultural, economic and spiritual context that we discovered on our voyage

amp Joffre: Rivesaltes, France A place between the Mediterranean and the mountains, just a few kilometres from Perpignan, near the Spanish border, on the edge of the motorway. Used in 1939 as a transit camp for Spanish refugees of the “Retirada”, a regional holding centre for Jews during WWII, an internment camp for German prisoners of war, a regroupment camp for Harkis and their families after the Algerian War of Independence, and today a detention centre for those without visas, this place has always held captive those considered by society to be “undesirable”. The camp at Rivesaltes bears witness to the dark years of the twentieth century and to the lives of children, women and men, which were shattered and destroyed by tragic events. These videos are journeys through the camp and act as an aide-memoir of the human condition.
