Untitled“Fascism was just a bunch of criminals in power, but it managed to deeply transform Italy. Nowadays the opposite is true, and the power of today’s democratic regime is managing to achieve the acculturation and standardization that fascism was unable to complete. The power of the consumer society that destroys other particular realities and impoverishes the diversity of human beings.”
Untitled“Do you maintain that the bourgeoisie is triumphing?.” “Yes, it is. And the neo-capitalist, consumer society is the true bourgeois revolution.” “I have banished the word ‘hope’ from my vocabulary; I continue to fight for concrete truths at each moment.”
UntitledAn extract from a dialog between Noam Chomsky and Michel Foucault in 1971. The topic: Human Nature: Justice versus Power. Foucault claims that “Power is not an institution, it's not a structure or a force available to some: it is the name given to a strategically complex situation in a given society”. If the centrality of a power that we can submit to or resist no longer exists, than it is impossible to seize power (if in the center there is nothing to seize). If power is reticulated, resistance must take place everywhere and in every way; if power is exercised at countless points, it must be challenged point by point.

UntitledThe Egyptian army brutally repressed a demonstration on December 17, 2011. Images from independent sources show the harshness of this murderous repression. Then, mainstream media reports show us a supposedly “balanced” view.
UntitledEvery morning, we sign the Contract. The system at the heart of our “free" world is based on a kind of contract that we all agree to. We sign it every morning: “I accept competition as the foundation of our system, even though I am aware that it generates frustration and anger for the majority of those who lose. I agree to be humiliated and exploited in exchange for being allowed to humiliate and exploit those on a lower rung of the social pyramid (...)"

Untitled“Language is a specific formalisation of expression that is assigned the role of transmitting orders to society.” “At school, language is placed in the mouth of the child, just as a pick is placed in the hands of a labourer. The teacher does not bring the children together to teach them the alphabet, but to teach them a system of orders. And when she asks a child what the sum of 2 + 2 equals she is not asking for information, she is giving an order.”
