Scope and content

In this performance I play with the idea of physical similarity between man and woman. It fascinates me how the 16th century creation of the ideal masculine body of Michelangelo has a lot of similarities with the 21st century feminine body. This performance is about sexual confusion caused by our longing for perfection; it's about the way we are dealing with our identity, obsession and compulsion. Although at first sight the action in the video seems absurd; the way the plastic gloves touch the kitchen apron, makes the struggle with the body very recognizable.
