“The opening of a Muslim oratory in a building in Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), for the celebration of Ramadan in October 2004 sparked a confrontation with dye intolerance among the residents of the city and the City. No Mosque! is a documentary of dialog and reflection that analyzes causes and consequences of this conflict on the basis of testimony of all of its protagonists.” We see the escalating pressure from one section of the neighborhood, the solidarity of others (the Ateneu Popular), the pathetic response of the City Council and the Muslim community's banishment to a prayer room made from shipping containers among wire fences in an Industrial Zone... A fractal that is being repeated exponentially throughout the country.

Katrina was called the worst natural disaster in America in 100 years... but the hundreds who died here were not killed by the storm - they were left for days to drown as flood waters rose around them. And today, the storm isn't what's keeping most of the city's former residents from returning home. A richer, whiter New Orleans is being built in which the city's poor and black majority have no place. While the city moves ahead with its plans to destroy public housing, scattered former residents fight a desperate battle for their right to return home.

In 1975, a group of young Lebanese men were affiliated with the Palestinian Resistance Organization "Fateh". Some of them sacrified their life in the course of the Civil War. Now that the war has gone, a bunch of those fighters are considered survivors, but they keep themselves alive by nursing their souls with alcohols, poetry and laughter.

NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE offers a window into the world of today's politically active youth. This compelling video presents portraits of four Ohio college students who are active in a variety of issues including the fight for equal education, affirmative action, affordable housing, civil liberties, and women's rights; an end to racial profiling and police brutality; and the Israeli-Palestine conflict. While all four share a passion for justice and equality, their perspectives, strategies and tactics differ - offering the audience a look at the complexity of youth activism in the new millennium.

Collaboration with Bornlab (El Borne CCM) for a collective approach to the contemporary imaginary of natural resources and territory, based on the sharing of current geopolitical issues that have an echo in the city of Barcelona.

This edition of the community studies group "Ecosystemic memories of the city" proposes a series of sessions in which we collectively approach the contemporary imaginary of natural resources and territory, based on the sharing of some current geopolitical issues that have an echo in the city of Barcelona.

Natural resources and the territory, based on the sharing of some current geopolitical issues that have an echo in the city of Barcelona. Through the contributions of various entities and people who connect us with critical archives, social actions and cultural initiatives in the city, we will address the recovery of community forms of agricultural social organization in contemporary pedagogies, images and slogans of movements for the protection of the land, as well as the reflection, from various worldviews, on cultural heritage and in connection with environmental issues that affect different international contexts.

The programme is organised in a participatory methodology that includes working groups where knowledge is pooled and perspectives are shared between guests and participants. In the different meetings, cultural proposals are discussed to explore the relationship between memory, community and ecology through collaborative experimentation and public action, which are included in the fanzine that is distributed in the closing session.
